CANADIAN SLUDGE/POST METAL WITH MELODY AND HEART
The riffs are deliciously sludgy, the vocals relentless, and the pounding rhythm section is hypnotic. Their whole sound is unsettling, and deeply textured. It is unfriendly, yet remarkably rewarding.
Panzerfaust are, for those willing to make the leap into the morass, one of the most accessible black metal bands active today. This is rhythmic, decipherable black metal, bolstered by an industrial tinge, that is worth checking out for green eared folks seeking an entry into more extreme genres, as well as jaded old dudes in faded battle jackets, looking for something to excite them again.
Because of my history with Kittie, their importance to my nascent love of music discovery, and the fact their sound matured as my tastes did, they will always be a very special band to me.
