284: KORDHELL

When Mick Kenney of Anaal Nathrakh and Make Them Die Slowly turns his attention to phonk-style hip hop and lofi beats, the result is unsurprisingly epic and spooky all at once.

Kordhell is Kenneyโ€™s outlet for this type of music (as well as a continuation of the character he played in MTDS). Bringing those some of the same retro horror vibes to Kordhell, what could end up being a fairly repetitive and uninspired electronic distraction, is fair more exciting.

Deep pulsing beats, a heavier feel that sometimes skirts close to industrial, and and assortment of catchy samples and cool little melodies make Kordhell a great listen. This is the kind of electronic music you give a metal head to ease them out of their battlejacketed reality.
