214: TAKEZO

Hailing from my favourite country in the world, Takezo are a relatively young band who sound like they’ve been doing this for decades. This is big fuzzy, doomy, sludge of the best kind.

Like desert rock on steroids, it’s big, brash, and hits like a fucking bulldozer. There’s just something simultaneously classic and modern about Takezo’s sound that I’m addicted to. Those lumbering riffs and roared vocals, pounding along, are almost hypnotic. Comforting, even.

Somehow, in only a few years, with just I’ve full length and two EPs, Takezo have really found a fantastic sound that wears its influences on its sleeve but really is it’s own beast. To have made such awesome music so quickly, I am excited to see what the future sounds like for them.
