When Glenn Danzig left horror-punk icons, The Misfits, in 1983 nobody could’ve predicted where the influential frontman’s career would go. Instead of continuing with punk music, Danzig formed ‘Samhain’ (which was later rebranded as simply Danzig), a doom-laden, goth rock project that would go on to be iconic in its own right.

There’s a classic rock feel to a lot of Danzig’s music, but there’s an edge to it – a metal touch, a gothic feel, a general darkness. Danzig’s vocals range from hard rock crooning to wild wails that harken back to his punk days.

The pieces all come together to form immediately recognisable, consistently quality, uniquely gothic hard rock. Everything Danzig does is undeniably Danzig and that is a noteworthy achievement with a catalogue this unique and amazing.
